The defending American League champions swept the Minnesota Twins in a best-of-three Wild Card series.
Carlos Carrea gave Houston the lead in the seventh inning with a solo home run off reliever Cody Stashak to right-center field. Kyle Tucker singled in the Top 9th bringing in Michael Branley to extend the Astros lead 3-1.
The Astros will face the winner of the Chicago White Sox & Oakland Athletics best-of-three series (tied 1-1).

- Game 2: Tuesday, Oct. 6
- Game 3: Wednesday, Oct. 7
- Game 4: Thursday, Oct. 8 (if necessary)
- Game 5: Friday, Oct. 9 (if necessary)
If the Astros make it out of the ALDS, they would play the AL Championship Series at San Diego’s Petco Park, which begins on Sunday, Oct. 11.
The 2020 World Series will all take place at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas, beginning Tuesday, Oct. 20.
The Roberto Clemente Award winner will be selected via a blue-ribbon panel that includes Commissioner Rob Manfred, representatives from MLB-affiliated networks (MLB Network, FOX Sports, ESPN, and TBS) and MLB.com, as well as Roberto’s children, Enrique, Luis, and Roberto Jr. Fans can vote for the Roberto Clemente Award via mlb.com/clemente21.
